Camila Roriz (1989) is a Brazilian visual artist based in NYC. She holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts from Belas Artes-São Paulo and a MFA in Painting from the University of Lisbon. She is currently pursuing an MA in Art and Art Education at Columbia University. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Tate Modern (UK), Casa das Histórias Paula Rego (Portugal), and Titanik-galleria (Finland). Merging traditional and digital media, Camila's practice explores identity, transformation, and storytelling. Since the pandemic, she has shifted her focus to physical works, particularly painting, as a tool for healing and self-discovery.

“My current artistic exploration focuses on channeling a creative, intuitive energy, allowing the subconscious to guide the process without predefined references. The imagery emerges organically, and I title the works after completing them, based on what they evoke for me. This approach supports my search to express a more instinctive, primal, and pure aspect of the act of painting.”
